Mission Pioneer
WHEN Dr. Clifford James, of Dunedin, hies himself away to the Solomon Islands m a few weeks' time to take up the arduous duties of mission work, there will be many who will accompany the good doctbr m spirit. For, with Mrs. James, he is going out to do his bit — not only to save souls, but to save bodies. Dr. James is an "honors" man m the study of tropical diseases, and, m his great unselfish work, the knowledge that he has so earnestly obtained will be of immense value to natives, who, under the spell of ignorance and superstition, are inclined . to treat disease as something that it is j useless to work against. i Possessed of a most likeable person- | ality. Dr. James has the arc of making friends — a priceless attribute when dealing with the simple, yet cunning, J minds of natives. With that faith characteristic of the pioneer, he will successfully undertake what many a man might well think twice about looking at.
