Lincoln's Head
DOWN Christchurch way they think a great deal of H. E. Alexander, director of Lincoln College, that great big place where, . the embryo farmers of New Zealand learn to tell the difference between a tractor and a wire -strainer. Seriously, though, Lincoln College does a great work — and 6veryohe is alive to the fact. There are many . improvements m agricultural methods that may be traced back to Lincoln— and, incidentally, to' Alexander. • > Possessed of that personality which enables him to obtain the most from his students, R.E.A. manages to make his job a pleasant one. When it is remembered that the men; "under him are not the "swotty" type, but lovers of the great outdoors, the fact that hei has to exercise a nice discrimination will be easily realized. Still, he does it— and that's the main thing.
