DOTVN Christchurch way everyone ' has a warm spot m, his heart for J. Young, curator of the Botanical Gardens. • Christchurch has gardens which are decidedly .different fronv any. m New Zealand. . Nature has been good to Christchurch,, but the artistry and skill of J..Y. ,have done much to make the most of the natural beauty of the grounds. Yet, flowers and trees have not made Young' one of those musty pedants such: as are generally associated with brains. Instead, he is what our American cousins term "live." Local affairs area special interest of his. As a 1 matter of fact, he is contesting a seat on the City Council; If he attains this honor, the patience his work m the gardens has giveri him will stand m" good stead. '
