HUGHIE'S HOPE
Rapier's Prospects Iri November (From "N.Z. Truth's" Christchurch Rep.) Hughie Nurse "makes no secret of the fact that he once again has designs on the New Zealand Cup. Rapier is undergoing a solid preparation m view of that event. "THE Greyspear horse looks a vastlyimproved animal since last season, which he concluded by running so disappointingly at Trentham. The let-up has worked wonders with him and quality Is written all over his frame. Rapier will run at Ashburton at Geraldine. A visit to Trentham is also anticipated. > These outings, together with the work he has been performing at Riccarton, will thoroughly wind the little fellow up. Though he • must get his. share of weight, it should not trouble him to any great extent m this year's weak field.
