OPENING the bout, Cowan went 01 KJ to lead with speed and brigfc boxing. Lack of power behind his punohe saw him fall to seriously troubl Socks, and the rugged little English man forged to the fore. When the local tired over the laßt bit Books made the battling, but this was ineffective, beyond bleeding Cowan's nose slightly. Socks received the decision at th finish, on the score of his aggressior but the call was very close.
