SCORES AGAIN

Blind Mare Wins Summer Cup (By "The Toff.") No horse is more popular m England than the blind trotting mare, Rosetta M., which has won many races. LIER latest achievement was m the *■ l Summer Cup, at Greenf ord DrivingPark, near London, on" July 5. After making a bad break early m the race, the majority of the trotter's supporters considered her chance a hopeless one, but Rosetta M., racing with uncanny gameness, gradually closed up to the field. Amid an ovation such as is seldom heard over the success of a trotter, the great mare got to the front and caused her many supporters to smile again. Rosetta M. has won three big handicaps m London this year. She was bred m America, being by Peter the Great from a mare by Bingen, and has been blind for several years. This makes no difference to her, however. She races gamely and is easy to drive. J. R. Corrigan, of Hawera, has purchased the flying machine, Richore, winner of the New Zealand SaplingStakes (1926). Richore can unwind phenomenal speed and when the Hawera. air has filled his lungs, he might produce his best m a race. * # * It will not be much trouble for Theckla Boy to win a mile saddle race.
