Cribb's Claim
THERE'S- a neat little figure who belongs to Wanganui, • though m a strict sense of poetical justice, Wanganui — or a fair portion of it — belongs to him. This speaks for Alfred Ji Cribb, whose long-standing citizenship and honest endeavor m business have consummated a moral claim against the progress and advancement of the River City. j Prosaically speaking, Wanganui — and' don't the citizens like to hear this? — has made big strides during the last ' decade or two. Cribb, m a more material form, has always been one of the silent, untiring henchmen on the tread-wheel of steady progress. ', In his younger days he was well known m musical circles, but now turns a refined ear m criticism or praise of talent within his range.
