GOSSIP FROM SYDNEY-TOWN
(By Cable.— From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Sydney Representative.) IT has been a dull week-end for the New Zealand contingent. Prince * Humphrey and First Acre took the count at Warwick Farm on Saturday, and several. Dominion representatives, were downed at Moorefield on Monday. . Prince Humphrey created a good impression. It was his first run here and he ran on strongly after being disappointed at the home turn. He beat all but Royal Tune, a prominent Epsom hope, which looks like playing a big, part at the Randwick spring meeting. ,; : , , First Acre was second later m the' day to Pigeon Pie, another Epsom hope. Neither visitor had any chance with the locals, though Prince Humphrey should not be long off the winning list. Mithra, In the Shade and Lorient 11. had outings at Moorefield on "Monday. . '.'.". . The only one to make a decent showing was Lorient 11., which , was heavily backed, . The visitor began badly and was second to last 'early, and then finished fast m second place. . . ~ V Mithra was also badly away m the Three and Four-year-old Handicap and then ran on strongly at the finish m fourth place. In the Shade was never m the picture. He was unbacked and was always with the rear division. He will do much better. T. Webster was successful oh The Lance m the Warwick .Handicap on Saturday. The Lance was heavily backed and the victory was a popular one. • , •
