Pirates gave a glimpse of their very best- form m their match against Wanganui Old Boys on Saturday, and quickly asserted their superiority.. They were right on their game, both forwards and backs playing with "fine dash. 1 Well led by J. Duncan, the. black rearguard threw the ball about in' fine style. ■ • ■'„!■' It was only the excellent' play of ,Fulton, the Old Boys full, which prevented the blacks from winning by/a much bigger margin than the 13 to 3 registered. , , One of the most improved players on the Pirate side is James, wing threequarter. \ He has developed a swerve and this, with his pace and safe handling combined, makes him a good winger.. • . ; J.
