On The Conference
(From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Commissioner.)
WHEN the Auckland Bacirig Club failed to secure direct representation on the N.Z. Racing 1 Conference at the annual meeting, held on July 13 at Christchurch, keen surprise was expressed m racing circles. .■

In the meantime, much curiosity is being evinced over the nature of the remarks to be made at the annual meeting of the A.R.C. regarding its non-representation on the executive body of the Conference. JJntil ,then, the minds of leading A.R.C. officials will not be disclosed.
It certainly seems a just grievance. It is time that the North, where more progress is being made with racing than m any part of the Dominion, has one country representative on the, main body, but direct representation or what is generally regarded as the most important racing club m the land would have been preferred, and if friction is caused, then those responsible for the election of the Conference executive have themselves to blame.
