Imprint Striding His Real Form (From "N.Z. Truth's" Special Auckland Rep.) Although Imprint contested four events at the Auckland meeting, third money was the best he could S et> THE contention is offered that Ber--1 kett's pacer, even though he waa on a tight mark, should have collected: at least one stake, not over two miles, when he was well and truly beaten, but m one of the shorter events. The Cornwall Handicap, when tho field was bunched, saw Imprint's drive*, take on the rails and get stopped over the last bit while travelling faster than anything else. In the Au Revoir Handicap, Imprint struck trouble half a mile from the judge and was not getting a run at all through being kept back. He began to move up fast over .. the final run; had Berkett gone on /, the outer, instead of trying to - wangle his way through the field, '.- "N.Z. Truth" is confident that the - son of Denver Huon would have T collected, the best end of the stake. Imprint was going great guns halfway, up the straight, but he got chopped badly and lost a lot of ground eventually to occupy third berth. Had Berkett adopted the tactics ot Albert Hendriksen behind the, winner, Cardinal Logan, which was well out: from the rails, Imprint's followers woUld have collected a decent "divvy." However, he will be kept m mind for his engagements at the metropolitan meeting. - Provided he keeps sound m the interim, some of the others are going to receive a shock.
