And Why Not?
THE very fact that .a man makes ' •* criminal allegations against an administrative official, (or, for that matter, against anyone), is sufficient reason why ' a qualified tribunal, charged with the dispensation of justice, should sift the allegations for their substance or otherwise. That is why it is due, not merely to Major Home, but to the inmates of the Roto Roa Island as weir as the general public, that the whole of the evidence be handed to the police. Major Home has declared that . he is innocent. That is a hopeful note, for he will no doubt be anxious to hear all the evidence and to answer the allegations before the only qualified tribunal capable of clearing his name from the unsavory cloud which now hangs over it.
