Not So Small
ASK anyone m the Manawatu if he doesn't know Pat J. Small— ahd
unless you chance to strike a newcomer. to the district, the answer will be: "Who doesn't?" "":
A member of practically every important public body m Palmerston North, he has served the district m a manner which has earned for him the popularity he so justly deserves
A man of few words, what he does say is always to the point and his judgment rarely at fault.
A past Dominion president of the Dairy Farmers' Union, Pat is still on the executive.
His associates apparently have unbounded faith m him, for he has been asked to contest the Manawatu electorate against Joe Linklater, the Reform member, as an Independent. Pat is a battler typical of the pioneers who made the country fit for habitation, his chief support being an interminable bonhomie, which has enabled, him to accept his reverses, m the right spirit m his dealings on behalf of those whose welfare he guards. It is largely due to his pluck and perseverance that the bodies with which. he is connected are flourishing.-
