RUNNING WELL

The Cross Country Date Changed (From "N.Z. Truth's" Wanganui Rep.) . The Wanganui Harrier Club has • advanced the date of the N.Z. cross-country championships to August 11. THE West Coast championships will 1 be held at New Plymouth, probably on July 28. ' The Masterton club sent a strong team to Wanganui to compete for the Benson trophy, arid the visitors succeeded in carrying off the trophy. There was a splendid finish for first place between Newton (Wanganui) and Hack (Masterton), the former winning by a small margin. Moore '(Wangranui) was third. The course used was that mapped out for the New Zealand championship, and the visitors pronounce it an Ideal one. Some of the southerners have been expressing the fear that the country chosen is ° not hilly enough, but the Masterton runners say that when they come to fun over it the Duriedin men will find it every bit as hilly ; as they could wish it to be.
