Daly's Daily

A LONG- STEM pipe, held firmly m a strong mouth and hovering over a

powerful chin; two piercing, discerning eyes, set deeply under a striking forehead, and a ready smile on a pleasing countenance.

Such is the face that is raised as you enter the editorial sanctum of "Mick" Daly, editor of the "Grey River Argus," New Zealand's only Labor daily.

Daly is a remarkable personality m every respect, but a minute's conversation suffices to appraise .the man at his true worth.

"Mick" is a man of more than average intellect. He merits the adjective "profound," for his views on men, politics and social problems — to mention but a few subjects on which he can discourse — reveal him as a deepthinker and sound reasoner.

When it comes to economics, "Mick" knows what he is talking about and could teach anti-Dabor politicians and the editors of the anti -Labor dailies the art of talking and writing horse-sense on the subject — an accomplishment few of them have attained to as yet.

Inside his office and outside, "Mick" is very popular and is liked by everybody on the West Coast.
