Berry's stable, effected a good win m the Kowai Trot. He got to work quickly, and after being m the thick of the fight for half a mile, he cracked on the pace and put his opponents into, the ground. He is by Logan Pointer from a mare .by King Cole and is a pretty useful pacer. # # # Becky Mine began quickly at Amberley and was m the thick of the fight for half the journey, thon she fell back beaten. * * * The two-year-old Grandlight gave another creditable performance when he beat all but Awa-iti m the Kowai Handicap at Amberley. He will be. hard to beat m the New Zealand Sapling Stakes. # # # Prompter made a bold showing at Amberley, but only for a mile. He is bred to go fast. ■ # ■# • Moneymore Trent as well as most people expected he would at Amberley. He can stay two miles and will prevail over that distance at some future date.
