MINOR EVENTS
Saturday's Fields AtWingatui (From "N.Z. Truth's" Dunedin Rep.) There will be good racing m the minor events at Wingatui on Saturday. . ' DED HEATHER will carry the bulk **• of public money m the Trial Hurdles, while Armchair is another promising novice whose schooling efforts suggest an early win. His name will appeal to stay-at-home punters. Heisler won on the flat at Amberley over the same distance. The Brighton Handicap is the most open race on the programme, winning form being represented m Rotor, Malmsey and Puff. On his Amberley form, Rotor is entitled to respect, but seasoned Southlanders m Latin Quarter and Solzia, are worthy of support. Solzia runs out a solid mile and is an honest and generous galloper. Strathnavev is. also m this race, but might require ,a gallop to sharpen him up. • ■Nylotis will go out at short money for the Hunters': Steeplechase, but will find solid opposition m Decision and Tunamoe, a stablemate of Greenstone. All the acceptors m the Jumpers' Flat, with the exception of Happy Warrior, will be having a pipe-opener for the Otago Hurdles, which will be run on Monday. •Oriflamb was beaten at Amberley, but the race was two furlongs further than Saturday's event. He must be given. a show. Kaikahu and Beauty Liight both go well on the flat. Wingatui races well on her own course and will be one of the favorites for the Winter Handicap. Fairy Herald is due to reach form and will see the mile out with 8.8. •Nincompoop has his share with 9.8, but is a resolute galloper.
