Cromwell's Doctor

DOCTOR HARRISON, of Cromwell, is a gentleman whose activities

may be divided thus: He is in charge of Cromwell's model and compact hospital; He owns a racehorse which, ever and anon, gallops in at the head o1: the field. As long as the race is fair and exciting, "Doc." is very easy whether his horse is first or otherwise;

He is the football coach and popular idol of the coming players of Cromwell. Many a crack player of the future will owe his success to the doctor's patience and training; He is a football rdferee whose judgment has never been doubted. Considering how seriously Cromwell takes its football, this is one of the finest compliments the Central Otago town can pay any man.

Cromwell respects Dr. Harrison — and. little wonder! For in a place where men are judged by their worth, "Doc." has stood the test. If ever you meet a Cromwell citizen, he Avill tell you, with justified pride, how the doctor went over the Nevis to do his best to cheat the Grim Reaper of the life of a sick woman. The tyres were literally sliced off his car and he returned to Cromwell with his wheels bound with bits of rope. That's the sort of man Dr. Harrison is.
