QEASONABLE though it is to produce no other than a maker of beer at i^ festive periods, it requires no special occasion to look appreciatively on the shrewd, kindly face of Charles Sp»ight, of Dunedin. True, as guiding destiny of Speights' branch of N.Z. Breweries, he has' come prominently before the public and will remain so just as long as — well, while beer is beer. But C.S. is no seeker of limelight, no panderer before the fickle shrine of an always questionable notoriety. He is a modest man and a moderate man in all things. More, SpeighS is a quiet philanthropist who has dipped wisely and well, but invariably anonymously, into his own cash-box for worthy causes.
