Softening The Severe
nEAREST ROSAMUNDE,— *•* Strictly confidentially, you know, just between you and ma, you do not look your best in that severe "skull" cap of fine black felt that I raw jammed down on your sleek head the other day.
You can't very well discard, the hat, and, beloved, I had no intention of casting gloom without offering a suggestion.
Get some more black felt and some white, sufficient to cut out a cluster of felt flowers, and put these at the right side of your "skull" cap. You could, of course, have the flowers in different colors. That is just a matter of taste; but you have always appreciated the "chic" of black and white. As always. JASMINE.
