CONSISTENT
The Moodabe-Shaw
Combine
(From "N;Z. Truth's" Special Auckland
Rep.)
Fresh from netting close on a thousand of the best at Addington, Jewel Pointer and Amaris made it clear that they thrived on the southern trip by adding another #1070 In stake money to their owner's aocount on opening' day of the Otahuhu fixture. THEIR deeds were a tribute to the superior condition m which Jack Shaw turned them out. Jack has long been noted as a trainer of painstaking ability, while his assistants have lingered long enough with their employer to know what is wanted to meet Shaw's requirements. There have never been pacers Or trotters turned out m better condition than those from the stables of "J.S." It ls the careful attention and good fodder m plenty they receive which makes them do their absolute best at all times. Jewel Pointer was never regarded as a champion, but for consistency he is hard to beat. The northern public showed its appreciation m no uncertain manner by the genuine plaudits which 'greeted < Shaw and '"Jewel" on their return to the enclosure after capturing the Jellicoe. Later the same afternoon, when Amaris downed two speed kings m Nelson Tasker and Nelson Fame m the Massey Memorial, the applause was repeated. Owner M. Moodabe Is certainly experiencing a great run with his pair of pacers and by capturing over £ 2000 during his honeymoon stage is starting off on the right leg. Jewel Pointer has won upwards of £3000 since his present owner purchased him for £600 less than two years back.
