He Is nearly all right again. * # # Native Chief had to be eased m his work owing to receiving a few cuts on one of his hocks. # # # D. Withers has Peter Swift trotting m great style. The gelding is improving with age. •. * • Conoliff has got everybody tied m a knot. It looks as if he is not a real racehorse. # # * Ahuriri was backed at Auckland, but ran like a cow. # * • Make a mental note of Marshal. He was very unlucky at Auckland, and will probably make amends at Addington. # # * After being driven over a lot of extra ground, Len Wood was always going comfortably m the Improvers' Handicap and won with a good deal m hand. « # ♦ Little Bingen carried a lot of money m the Improvers' Handicap at Oamaru, but he went to pieces after going fifty yards and settled his chance completely. ' * « • Reta Corona made two breaks m the first race at Oamaru, but didn't lose much. She had the fence all the way and then could not win.
