MOT only were Avon Court and Frisco Jack responsible for double victories, but Trainer Ernie George pulled off the big winning double of opening day with Mint Leaf and Oration. Besides this, J. W. Cathro, the Paeroa mentor, led m the winners of both divisions of the Trial Plate (Miss Potoa and Auriculus). The Te Aroha trainer, A. E.
