POSITANO'S PROGENY.

A noticeable feature about horses got by-Positano is, that they either came good or are next to good for nothing. Lord Cardigan, Poseidon, and now the highly-promising Mooltan support the theory that when the Positanos make for good they are out ; and out .champions. Some of the Saint Simon horse's "get" have also been rubbish. However, m the few cases where Positano has been given a chance with mares descended from stout staying strains he mostly got something good. If extra care and study were given to the Australian cross of the Saint Simon sire with Musket mares, still greater results might be obtained.
