The "'dark horse," Seddon, was duly produced at Flem-ington last Saturday, says Melbourne ''Truth" of August 24, when any number of backers fervently wished, -he had been kept m his stable at Men-tone. All sorts of "fairy tales" were m circulation about this wrapped-up-in-lav-ender brother 'to Wairiki, and, like most booms,' he was soon a falsenriced favorite for the Three and Four Year Old Handicap. Whether or not those m the confidence of trainer "Ike" Foulsham were as sanguine about him as some of his early backers is very doubtful, for before the close ,of operations he was weakening very considerably. As a rule, the market is a good guide, and m getting third Seddon probably ran just as well as he was expected to do, and he was certainly not disgraced.
