Having accomplished this meritorious deed to his own complete satisfaction, Ah Young ran amok some more and apparently, unable to And any more Chows to lay out,- he started m to wreck the shop and had succeeded m puncturing six- panes of glass when the crowd which had fathered owing to the commotion,, made a forward rush, bowled the- pigtail over and disarmed him. Then, as many foreign devils as could find room, planted themselves m a row on Ah Young's carcase and beguiled, the time, while waiting for a policeman to tardily arrive, by debating whether it would be a hanging job and what their re^ ward would be for collaring the murderer. After sufficient time had elapsed for Ah Young, had he been at liberty. to

MURDER THE WHOLE TOWN, including Newmarket,' a bobby and a 'tec arrived, the Chow was securely handcuffed and taken to the station. Meanwhiile Wah Sing was receiving medical attention. The blow administered would have deaded anybody but a Chow, although this' one was pretty nearly oiited. When Ah Young breasted the Peter at the police court on he developed infirmity and appeared, paralysed. Whether it was real or assumed by the wily Chow is uncertain, but he was remanded for a week at Chief Detective Marsack's instigation, to allow of Wah Sing's repairing to be completed so that he may -give evidence.
