OLD TIMER IN COURT HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN PREVIOUS CONVICTIONS. “I don't know nothing about it,” said Joseph Johnston, alias James Smith, alias Robinson, when charged at the Magistrate’s Court on Saturday with having stolen a shirt, valued at 8s lid, the property-of Hornig’s, Ltd. He was also charged with a sixth statutory offence of drunkenness. This offence was admitted by tho accused. Senior-Sergeant Lander told the court that accused had a list of 118 previous convictions, including some for drunkenness and for theft, against him. The shirt was taken from outside TTornig’s. and sold to a second-hand dealer For .?s. On the charge of drunkenness, Johnston was Tined T-. in doFanlt seven days’ imprisonment., and was ordered to fnko out a prohibition order against himself for one year. On the charge of theft, lie was sentenced to fourteen days’ imprisonment.
