STOCKING TROUT STREAMS
ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY Since the commencement of operations the Wellington Acclimatisation Society has distributed a. large number of trout fly in the streams in its district, and the total released will shortly reach 1,123,C0) brown, trout fry and 73,000 rainbow trout fry. Distributions so far are:—Brown trout fry: —Wairarapa North 80,000, Wairarapa South 80,000, Palmerston North 84,000. J’iketahuna 7.3,000, Pahintua 84,000, Levin 50,000, Alarcon 45.000, Jlnnterville 45,000. Tailiapo 50,000, Afangnweka 30,000, Hutt and tributaries 100,000, Wainui 75,000. Akatarawa 25,000, Porirna 18,000. Afarton river 12,000, Mungaroa 10,000, Horokiwi 10,000, Shannon 21.000. Afnngahao 11,000, Waikanao 20,000, Mntama 10,000, Ngatiawa 10,0(X), Maunganui 10,000, Maungatukiitu 10,000, Mangaoke 10,000, Little Wainui 15,000, Te Komaru 20.00, Ohariu 10,000, and Afasterton ponds 10,000; remaining distributions to follow' are: Otaki 25,000. Pongaroa 10,000, Tauhcreniknu (por Tramping Club) 2000, and South Karori 10,000. Rainbow frv: Pahiatua 13,000, Taihape 13,000, Mangawoka in.OHO, Afarton 8000, Huntorville 8000, Masterton ponds 5000: remaining distributions: Otaki 8000 and Mangahno (lower dam) 5000.
