JUBILEE CARNIVAL DANCE
MARIST BROTHERS CELEBRATION FUND. One of the most enjoyable dances held this season was the jubilee carnival dance in St. Peter’s Hall on last Wednesday. which was comfortably filled for dancing. Tbo decorative scheme of strings of vari-coloured streamers, intermingled with Chinese lanterns and coloured lights added greatlv to the carnival spirit that was displayed by the distribution of novelties, streamers, and firework sparklets. Tho inspiring music of Jack Mavbury’s Ambassador Orchestra was all tliat could lie desired, and contributed in no small way to tho enjoyment of the evening, dance® being repeatedly encored. A | notable feature of the evening was Miss Mngaret O'Connor and partner, who wore delightful in their exhibition of the ballroom French tango. Great credit is due to the energetic efforts of the committee in making the function such a great success, especially Mr R. S. Dwyer, who was the organise]* of the dance, fhe proceed* of which are to be devoted to tho jubilee celebrations of the 1 Marist Brothers', which probably will amount to ,£25.
