SWIMMING
CARNIVAL AT TE ARO BATHS The carnival at To Aro Baths this afternoon promises to be a great attraction for public- and 6wimmers alike. The baths shou d be well patronised, and the carnival will bo a forerunner of others to follow under the centre's direction, who are trying to foster with great success of the sport in Wellington. It is now up to the public to do their bit, and the attractions put on from time to time will do a lot to induce their patronage. The novelties will be full of amusement, and arrangements are in hand for new novelties to be introduced in the future. It is hoped they will be well patronised by tho swimmers. Tho breaststroke free-style ©vents will bo full of incident, and the over-popular fanev and plain diving will be again staged. Tlio polo, which is ever increasing in popularity, will be full of wet heads and fast play. Mr “Pete" Coifa can be relied on to put in the best teams for the contest Wellington Representatives v. The Rest, and the choice of pickings may cause some surprises. Pete has some good surprises in store later also.
