BURGLARY NEAR BULLS

TWO PREMISES ENTERED HUNT FOR THE MISCREANT. Per Press Association. M.ARTON, December 3. Early last evening the residenco of J. B. Gaisford, the well-known racehorse owner, situated on the main road at Bulls, was broken into and the sum of £2O in money and a quantity of wine and also a small quantity of clothing was stolen. A suspicious person was seen near the house earlier. When warning was given, the owner found that the thief had disappeared, leaving behind a ragged blue overcoat. Entrance had been obtained bv a bedroom window. A search along the Pnrewanui road revealed a broken bottle, indicating that the thief had indulged in wine. A few hours later it was found that the residence of W. .T. Ellery, about two miles away, had also been entered, while the occupants were milking. and tho sum of £4 taken. A close watch is being kept on all roadri in the district.
