RAFT TRAGEDY
CHRISTCHURCH, December 2. The body of the man found on the bank of the Waimakariri river at Woodstock, Oxford, has been definitely identified as- John S. Shannon, a victim of tho raft tragedy which occurred in the Waimakariri Gorgp on August 22nd. At the inquest a verdict was returned that Shannon met his death by drowning, as the result of an accident while endeavouring to negotiate the Waimakariri river on a raft.
