At the annual conference of the National Party Mr T. R. Bavin informed the delegates that he had been in negotiation with the leader of the Country Party, and he was confident that a compdetely satisfactory agreement for mutual co-operation and the elimination of duplication and disunity in the selection of candidates for particular seats would be arrived at. Thus a united front would be presented to the Labour Party at the elections.
