HUNT FOR WOMAN-KILLER
MAN SUSPECTED OF MURDERING HIS LANDLADIES TO ROB THEIR HOUSES. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. NEW YORK, November 30. The police on the Pacific Coast are making a wide search for a strange man who is alleged to have killed nine women, five of them in San Francisco, during the summer. He was in the habit of renting rooms in cheap, boardinghouses, killing the landladies, and robbing the bodies and houses.: : The detectives suspeot that the same man is responsible for the deaths of other women in Portland, Stockton, and Oakland, under similar conditions.
