Archdeacon Cherringtyri, who is 47 years of age. has been. Arhhdencon of Mauritius since 1923. He had a brilliant scholastic career at the Unjversity of London. He- took his B.A. degree in 1898 and Doctor of Divinity degree in 1905. Archdeacon Cherrjngton’s arrival in New Zealand will not be marked by a public welcome of any sort, owing to the fact that he last week suffered a severe bereavement by the death of his wife in England.
