EIGHTY CARDINALS
POPE BREAKS A TRADITION Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. (Received November 30, 5.5 p.m.) ROME, November 29. It si reported that the Pope is enlarging the Sacred College of Cardinals to 80 members, in order to increase the representation of non-European countries, particularly America, Australia, and Canada. The changes involve the abandonment of the traditional number of 70, and also a revision of the Canon Law.
