DUNEDIN EXHIBITION
WELLINGTON'S REPRESENTATION. Mr J. R. Simpson, chairman of the Wellington cortmittee, stated yesterday that the deficiency on the Wellington court had been reduced from £1250 to <£2so. All accounts were paid immediately after the close of the Exhibition, said Mr Simpson, and this was made possible by several leading business houses guaranteeing a bank overdraft. While the committee is naturally pleased with the response to its appeal tor funds, there still remains the necessity of collecting <£2so before it can say “Finis” to this special effort in the interests of the province. The committee is now asking 250 of the leading business people to contribute <£l each so as to finalise matters, and it feels confident that equitable method will secure the happy result. Subscriptions can be forwarded to the secretary, Mr Roy S. Johnston, 8-10, Brandon street.
