HOMING PIGEONS
AUCKLAND-WELUNGTON Tho Wellington Homing Pigeon Society held its weekly race from Auckland, a distance of 308 miles air line. There were 10 lofts with 47 bird© competing. This race proved a very hard one, as at the time of liberation, 8.15 a.in , tho weather was showery, with a south-west wind blowing, which they had to face all the way, none of the birds arriving that day. The results were:—Mr G. Wilson s K.C.C., 28 w., 1922, time arrived 5.11.28 a.m.; Mr It. Lamb’s 8.C., 260 w., 1924, time arrived 5.24.39 a.m.; Mr J. Preist’s 8.C.C., 530 w., 1921, time arrived 5.42.49 u.ru.; Mr It. Hastio's 8.P.C., 28 w., 1923, time arrived 6.53.39 a.m. The race next Saturday will be a ten minuto interval race, eacfi bird doing the distance on its own from Auckland.
