KNOCKED DOWN BY TRAIN ACCIDENT AT THORNDON STATION MARRIED MAN INJURED "While taking a short cut across the railway lines at Thorndon station at 5.12 o’clock on Saturday evening, a married man, James Simpson, of 16, Glenmore terrace, was knocked down by the incoming. train from Johnsonville. Fortunately ho was thrown clear of the wheels, but, nevertheless, suffered injuries to the head and right arm and a fractured leg. He was admitted to the Public Hospital at 6 o’clock, and is reported to be progressing as satisfactorily as possible in the circumstances. It was reported late last night that Simpson’s condition was not too good, and that he showed no improvement.
