OBITUARY
JAMES EDWIN WHEELER There arc many people in Welling* ton who will regret to learn of the death of Air James Edward Wheeler. He had many friends who were drawn to him by his bright outlook on life in spite of long physical disabilities. The eldest son of the late Air W. F. Wheeler, at one time manager of th© Union Steam Ship Company, he entered the service of that company at an early age. But his career was cut short by an attack of rheumatic fever. He was a most promising athlete and his physical stamina helped him to fight the affliction of paralysis and blindness for nearly thirty years. Though laid aside he continued to make an ever-widening circle of frendsi, to whom his brave courage, his cheery good nature and bright disposition were very precious. In hi« ln*t he took a lively interest in all the questions of his day, national, international and domestic. There are many who will miss his clear judgment and his keen optimism.
