UNOCCUPIED HOUSE
DESTROYED BY FIRE CAUSE A MYSTERY. (By Telegraph.—Special to “Times.”/ STRATFORD, November 28. A seven-roomed unoccupied house on the outskirts of Stratford, owned by S. W. Lovegrove, New Plymouth, was totally destroyed by fire at two o’clock this morning. The house was formerly used as a boarding house, but has been unoccupied for over a week, aud the origin of the outbreak is a complete mystery. People passing on the way home from a dance half an hour before the alarm saw nothing to excite suspicion, but when the alarm was given the houso was in flames, which enveloped the whole building. A poor water supply rendered the brigade almost powerless, and nothing could be done to save the building. It is insured in an offico at New Plymouth, but particulars are unavailable.
