Owing to the “no overtime” strike, the laying up of vessels has commenced and many seamen will be affected unless a settlement is soon reached. It is understood that pressure is being brought to bear on t lie svatersibers by other unions with the object of bringing about normal working conditions. Tho wntersiders are being urged to revert to constitutional measures, and to accept ttye offer of Mr Justice Beeby that their federation can have their case heard by the Arbitration Court if they start work forth-
