EQUALITY-IN WHAT?
DOMINIONS’ NEW POSITION ADDRESS bTmII AMERY. Australian and N.Z. Cubic Association. (Received November 26, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, November 25. Mr Leopold Amory, Secretary for the Dominions, in a broadcast address regarding the results of the Imperial Conference, emphasised tho fact that the Dominions had come of age, and their full equnlity with Britaiu was now recognised, though that did not mean equality of status, wealth or population, as for years Britain was bound to play the major part in the defence of the Empire and in the settlement of foreign policy. Tire Dominions now were entitled to exercise every function of national life. There were critics who feared that that meant the beginning of the disruption of tho Empire, hut he, Mr Amery, did not believe the Empire was held together by a central authority, but by common loyalty to ideals.
