Hart at the Association of British Manufac* turers last evening. “The Customs officials have been working on the tariff for four months,” he said, “and they are reaping in every possible item that is on the free list to-day; even all British goods they can get.” Members considered that the time might comcil when they would have to take public action as an association in the matter of tariff—particularly in the face of agitation in certain quarters.
