BOXING VISITS
AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND DR. McEVEDY INTERVIEWED. Hope of the re-establishment of tho old relations between the governing bodies of amateur boxing in Australia and New Zealand is held out by Dr. P. l'\ Mcllvedy, chairman of the New Zealand Boxing association, who returned to Wellington by the Marama after two months’ visit to Australia. Interviewed by a “Times” reporter, Dr. McEvedy stated that while in the Commonwealth lie had got into touch with the Australian Boxing Association, and had every hope that as the result of his visit and the understanding which now existed between the two controlling bodies an exchange of visits would comO about. “The old agreement between the two bodies expired some years ago,” said Dr. McEvedy. “And there have really been no official Australasian championships held since Brian McClenry and McDonald, of Dunedin, went across to Australia to represent the Dominion. Neither body has been in a position to hold them. But in the nenr future I hope that we shall see our boys wolcomed in Australia again and Australian teams visiting New Zealand.”
