MARCONI’S MARRIAGE
ANNULMENT BY CHURCH ASKED DIVORCE GRANTED IN 1921. Australian and N.&. Cable 4s>oeiati'»u (Received November 25, 7.15 p.m.) ROME, November 24. * Senator Marconi had an audience with the Pope, and discussed the annulment of his marriage, toward which a preliminary decree was granted by the Curia of Westminster, on the ground of the defective legality of his marriage with the Hen. Beatrice O’Brien. It was stated by Senator Marconi that his wife made it a condition before marriage that she could separate whenever she wished. This, he claims, nullifies the marriage in Roman Catholic Canon Law. It is now rumoured that Senator Marconi is’ engaged to marry a member of the old Roman aristocracy. According to “Who’s Who,” Senator Marconi was married in 1905 to the Hon. Beatrice O’Brien, and they had one son and two daughters. Tn 1924 the marriage was dissolved, and in the same year the ex-wife was married to the Marquis di Montecorona .
