OLD COUPLE DIVORCED

MARRIED NEARLY SIXTY YEARYEARS Preaa Association. AUCKLAND, November 25. At the Supreme Court, Charlotte Whitehead, 76 years of age, petitioned for a divorce from Leadham Whitehead, about 80 years of age, on the ground that they had been separated for 58 years. The parties were married in July, 1867. The relations were not cordial, and in June, 1868, they agreed to separate. The petitioner stated that the respondent could not keep her, and he expressed a wish that thay should live apart. Thera was one child of the marriage. Counsel said the reason for the divorce was that the parties wished to marry again for the sake of their other children. A decree nisi was granted.
