The fire brigadesinen in the Brisbane district have notified the Metropolitan Fire Board of their intention to go on strike at 8 o’clock this morning. The men are said to be striving for the same conditions for outstation men as now applied to those in the metropolitan area.

The chairman of the Fire Board states that steps have been taken to ensure as far as possible adequate protection of life nnd property.
