MOTOR RACES
AT OTAKI BEACH GOOD TIMBsIIECORDED; (“Times” Correspondent.) The week-end motor races at OtaH Beach were favoured with good weather, and the promoters have every reason to be proud of the success of the -meeting. A temporary bridge had been erected over the Wuitobi Jtiver, which was appreciated by the general public. Unfortunately all the timber necessary for the bridge was not procurable in time to provide for motor hikes to cross, but all being well a first class bridge will be erected for the next race meeting.
The beach was in very good condition for racing, nnd fast tiroes were put up by several of the riders. Mr Lep Maugham, on his Harley-Davidson, created a sensation by winning one of the eight mile events, his time being 7 minutes 4 l-56ec. Mr Russell, who rode a Norton, is also to be congratulated on his win, as it was his first start in the racing game, he was applauded on passing the Sost. Mr Barrett (Super X) won the 'taki Citizens* Cup with 100 yards to spare, his also wns.n popular win. That popular sport **Tui** Morgan (Harley-D.) was &!so to the fore, capturing the first event with ease. Following are the details’of the racing:— Sir Mile Handicap—T.
