PLUNKET SOCIETY

LOWER HUTT FETE. Friends of the Plunket. movement in the Lower liutt district are reminded that the annual fete of the Lower Hutt branch of the Plunket Society, will be held next Saturday at Riddiford Park. The fete has established itself as a popular event, and the arrangements made this year indicate that it should be even more enjoyable than hitherto. Many interesting and novel entertainments will be provided. Among the events of the afternoon will be the declaration oi the baby competition, in which five infants are now piling up votes to see which will receive the silver mug awarded for first place. The others will bo presented with silver spoons to bring them as near to the proverbial provision of extreme good fortune as may be. Gifts to assist in the stocking of the various stalls will be gladly received.
